Spring is here

When I look out my kitchen window I am greeted by this wonderful flowering magnolia. It has a special significance to us as when we got married my Mum had a smaller version of this tree in her garden and I had my photo taken looking through the branches of the tree. So it is a reminder that we have survived another year of marriage.

It is particularly lovely this year and I am so glad it has blossomed so well. The last few years the buds have dropped before the flowers have opened so last year I gave the tree a good dressing of fertiliser that I use for the rhodendrons and camelias. It really is a picture this year.
