The air dry clay tiki

Regular readers of this blog will know i have a scholarship to create parallels between Maori and Celtic customs. The Celtic spirit doll is part of that and the tiki is the Maori parallel that I have chosen. I used a template to cut out the basic shap and then rolled small tubes of clay for the raised portions. The paua shell eyes were inserted in much the same way as the eyeballs for the spirit doll. The various themes will be mounted on A3 substrates (about 30 of them) and joined together using the piano hinge method so they can be taken apart or folded up when not on display.. I have two years to complete the work as it is only part time. I have painted the air clay with Lumiere blue/green metallic
