Beginning a mini korowai

Still working my way along various parts of the Celtic/Maori parallels. I wanted to display the similar but different way of making vestments so decided I would try and make a mini korowai (Maori cloak). I felt for my work to be authentic I needed to create this myself. I am not using muka - the internal flax fibre, just twine. I have hammered panel pins into a piece of timber and strung a leader twine around them. Here i have the waho (warp) threads hanging down. Now I will begin the trial of weaving and knotting in the weft threads. I know it will be time consuming but I will do a bit each night. I also hope to include some feathers but I might cheat here and use pre-attached feathers rather than create the shafts and individually attach them
