Playing with the Gell Plate

I enrolled in Jane Dunnewold's Backgrounds and textures and had a lovely afternon in the studio playing around with the gell plate. I had never really been that impressed with prints on fabric but now I understand that the fabric should be left on the plate to dry my results were much more positive. The piece photographed above was using a few different found objects on the plate and will no doubt end up being cut up for collage some of the things use are a child's patterned rolling pin, a glue stamp flower, the base of two different supermarket. they piece that looks like eyes was the end caps for a battery and a sheet of mesh. While it may look like a mess at the moment the textures will have application going forward
