And What About standard cotton

This piece of cotton was lying around in the studio - obviously scoured but not mordanted. I decided to try it in the press in a bundle. The leaves are rose leaves, the flowers hydrangea and the purple is a couple of heuchera leaves. The white resist was leaves that didnt print at all. I will probably have a go at reprinting pards of this. The cotton was mordanted in a copper sulphate bath and all plant material was stamped on a ferrous sulphate pad. The bundle was put in the heat press for 3 minutes at 250° C. The main reason for trying this piece of fabric was to see if results were similar to the damask. The cotton was calico weight and provides more options for experimentation
