With level 3 lockdown and many stores closed for so long and regional borders also closed, I decided I would make the Christmas gifts for my Grandchildren this year. They are past the littlies stage so I thought I would make them personalised tote bags for the girls and maybe personalised T shirts for the boys. With 11 of them to make I know I needed to get a move on so here are my baggies of low immersion hand dyed cotton batch processing for the girls. They all like purples and pinks so I put 1/2 cup of soda ash dissolved in water and a bare 1/8 tsp of procion powder in cobalt blue and fuchsia into each bag and scrunched up the cotton fabric. I am hoping to get a marbled look to the fabric. Not too sure how well the purples will take the prints on top but I can always just do black prints and not colour them. The colours on my gold satchel which is still at the quilting stage allowed over colouring so well but the darker colours might not take the inktense as well. We will see.
