Shelley Rhodes Workshop

This began as a Stitchclub exercise and became part of my starting points for abstract design. I have made the piece into a concertina book for ease of storage. A while back I posted a piece where I showed the length of fabric that had been painted and had various techniques applied on top of the paint. The idea was to record in an abstract way a walk and then embellish with stitch. Over the next few days I will post some of the inside pages so you can see the abstract development of my walk to the beach from the Mokau house to the actual sea. When I folded the accordion the last fold was too short so I had to make a decision - cut it off or add to it. I decided to stitch in a small piece of eco dyed fabric - that is the piece on the right with the wooden flower embellishments added to it
