Using Copper Sulphate as a Mordant

With all the new foliage bursting forth, I thought i would go back to doing some heat press recording. I used copper sulphate in the water I dipped the papers in - the leaves were still stamped in ferrous sulphate - but what a difference. I haven't used copper sulphate before and I had heard it brightened the colours whereas ferrous sulphate dulls them ( makes them greyer) but I wasn't expecting the bright green from the maple. The leaf at the right of the page is rose and the dark leaf at the top left i Thai mint. Centre bottom is an orange abutilon and the blobs toward the top are petals from a camellia. This lot was put in the heat press for 3 minutes at 270 degree celcius
