A different background approach
Jane Dunnewold sometimes uses spackling and stencils in her botanical work so I decided to give it a go. I have used a honeycomb stencil and dipped the leaves in copper sulphate solution rather than ferrous sulphate - hence the greener look of the leaves. The prints are not as precise as I would have like but I may have needed to leave the bundle in the heat press for longer. It is still all very experimental and trial and error with me. I want to try using some men's silk ties and have purchased some second hand ones quite reasonably off Trademe so we will ss how they turn out once they arrive.
