Exciting New Eco Dye method

Caroline Nixon has presented a workshop through Textile.Org Stitch club where she dips the fabric into the ferrous sulphate solution rather than using an iron blanket. She doesnt do either the alum or tannin premordant so I was very interested to see what would eventuate. The prints above have been made using leaves from the freezer allowed to regenerate in some water. They are forest tulip and red maple leaves with the addition of some cotinus and silver dollar gum in the top sample. The exercise is to now embellish the prints so I will work toward that over the next little while. I am keen to do more experiments with this method
