The Christmas Paper fabric Amalgam
I don't very often work in red but the used Christmas papers set the colour pallet for this little piece. I have momigamied the paper to break up the fibres so they would take the intense surface stitching at the end. I then applied all the substrates to an old drop sheet with gel medium. I added the darker horizontal strip left over from an earlier experiment. The Queen Anne's lace machine sketch was done pretty much free hand with just the size ouline drawn on the fabric. To inegrate the piuece as a whole I then free machine quilted the surface with a figure of eight scribble stitch in red. Quite different from my normal type of work but an interesting experiment in the use of recycled paper none the less.
