I never throw out print fabric failures because they can become the background for something in the future and that is what has happened here. I have printed my kahawai several times on this piece of eco dyed fabric which was probably too wet when I was trying to get a good print . I seem to be working on long horizontal pieces at the moment. The purplish "blobs" are where iron sulphate on a leaf or something has come in contact with the tannin dipped fabric. At his stage you can see the fish swimming across the fabric but they are a bit imprecise. I will use inktense pencil to define them a little bit and the probably quilt in some wavy water lines in the background.
