Way Behind on Vinny Stapley workshop

I have jumped ahead a bit here as Vinny has a delightful repertoire of using shears to stitch on and then mounting so the light shines through them. The initial idea was to use a template from a sketch of a weed and cut out in three different values of shears and then stitch these onto a sheer background. I have done the sketches but decided to use my technique of stitching on leaves sandwiched between layers of organza in place of the sketches. I will come back ot my sketches but really wanted to trial this. At the moment the maples are just coming into leaf and they are magnificent.I chose this Japanese maple Nigra as my subject. I might have been better to use one that wan't quite so complicated but here it is pinned out and ready to start stitching
