Stitch Club workshop with Anne Kelly (UK)
This week's challenge was making a fabric/tissue paper laminated concertina book. I selected photos from a trip to Hamilton Gardens in 2018 carefully cropped them and printed them on teabag paper (after some problems). I laminated them to a base cloth which was part of an old drop cloth so was multicoloured with wonderful abstract marks from my printing experiments. I laid out the tissue paper, over the top of my layout and painted it with 50/50 pva and water. The pictures were indistinct and I felt the whole thing was a mess. At this stage I felt like throwing in the towel and binning the result. However Gregory Wilkins words "embrace your whoopsies" rang clear in my head and I decided it couldn't be any worse so I persevered.
