Looking for inexpensive ways to frame small art pieces

A while back I made this little pohutukawa stitchery from Sue Vickery's Stitch Club challenge. It is all made from plastics. I wanted to frame it but wasn't keen on spending a lot of money on frames. I had ordered these little metal hoops for another project but didn't need them all so I decided to see if I could make a frame out of them. I drew around the circle with the stitchery in the middle and then cut out a 1/4 inch margin all round. I cut out a matching black felt circle and then stitching on the line, I machine stitched about 3/4 or a bit less around the circle. Then I notched around the circle being careful not to cut into the stitching and turned the circle right side out. I inserted the ring and hand stitched the remaining opening closed. Now I can attach a ribbon or something else to the back of the stitchery to hang it
