I don't think we give ourselves enough time to play. As a textile artist, I know I don't. Which is probably why I am enjoying these little ephemera squares with no deadline and no actual end result in mind. This piece is made from a previously made textured background that was thermofaxed screened from two of Jane Dunnewold's screens. The blue brick wall with a fine brown overlay. I wanted to see what this would look like with more representational images laced on top. The white teasels are thermofaxed screens and the brown square piece on the right is a reproduction of an old piece of money. The other images are all from paper napkins, single layered with gel medium top and back. Once again I am enjoying the repetition of the teasels and I am constantly amazed at how the napkins become "part of the underlying fabric. I will be interesting to see who these look once quilted.
