How About This

after Sophie Standing's class in Rotorua in 2018 I really wanted to do a tuatara. When the fabric arrived for the Hoffman challenge fabric arrived I redefined what I had originally thought about doing and decided to base the challenge on the tuatara. Susan Carlson talks about the colours are not what matters it is the values and her posts have also been instrumental in my gaining this award. I wasnt at the award evening but when I go to Quilt Symposium this morning, people who knew me kept congratulating me but no one seemed too sure what the award was. To discover it was the Best contemporary quilt was quite a surprise as to me it is still representational and therefore sort of traditional compared to abstract/modern quilts.rt up the day for a wonderful creative exposure to Alysn Midgelow-Marsden's course
