First Signs of Spring

After the wettest july on record it was so nice to have a sunny day yesterday. I had noticed that the grafted flowering cherry that my brother 'n law Les did was in full flower. It is always the first harbinger of spring and a joy to see. robin mowed the lawns and I applied lime to the moss on the front lawn so things are looking tidy again but unfortunately it is back to drizzle again this morning. I need to get my quilts ready to send off to the Quilt Symposium next year as they must be received in Auckland next week. I still have to attach the labels and sew the hanging sleeve onto one of them. I didn't do this when I first finished them - it is always these fiddly, uncreative bits that I find tedious but needs must when the devil drives
