Indigenous markets are a Great Source for Inspiration

I treasure the opportunities to go to early morning local food markets with my little Fujifilm camera. I would really like to get a better zoom camera for wild life photography but this little camera doesn't take up much room and i find I have more control than with my phone camera. Although this photo is out of focus it will still provide an interesting profile for a Bali quilt. The towel on this lady's head is to stabilise the basket in which she carries her produce to market. All the food is fresh and purchased daily. The friends I stayed with have a restaurant in Warung so getting up early to purchase the daily requirements is part of their way of life. There is very little packaging in a third world country and as most people don't have refrigeration and food includes more vegetables than meat, buying fresh each day is essential.
