I have never grown flowering kale before - mainly because I have never seen the seedlings for sale - bu this year I saw some in the Warehouse earlier in the season when I was looking for something to put in these planter boxes. They will grow quite a bit bigger yet and the centres will be tight rosettes. I have seen them in mass plantings in some towns and they look great. So far so good. They do make a nice splash of colour when the rain is dismal. When I first put these in you couldn't even see them above the planter. I am wondering if those purple ones would do anything in a dye pot. I have heard that red cabbage is a fugitive dye (meaning it fades) so not too sure if I will try these or not.
