Passion Fruit Skins

Grandma has an amazing passion fruit vine and I kept the skins from the fruit she gave me this season and have boiled them now to see what they dye like. I had tried this previously without too much success but then I didn't scour or mordant the fabric. The colour of the dye/ink is a disappointing brown but it will be interesting to see what I get when I immerse fabric. I might even do some experiments with "modifiers. This is another way to use eco dying in my work. I also gathered the crinium seed heads and boiled them to see if they would give a colour but they didnt. These are pesky bulb heads that sprout and come up all over the place if I don't remove them so it was worth a try to see if I could find a use for them.. Maybe I should try the same with the oxalis bulbs I dug out of the garden. I have a small bucket full of them. another pesky weed I wish I could get rid of
