Experiments with Silk

This is the piece of silk that had the yellow dye run. It has been moranted with alum and steamed for 2 hours with Forest Tulip leaves and an iron blanket. The top two leaves are right side to the fabric and the bottom one is unerside to the fabric. I am always amazed at the difference the way you place the leaves makes. The purple blobs are from the stem. The yellow in the fabric seems to have concentrated under the top two leaves and leached out further in the rest of the fabric. I intend to stitch on this piece so it has real potential
