Not Much Crafting Going On

It is so hot and dry at the moment that by the time I get home from work I am almost too tired to do very much. I am trying to get some water to my most precious plants and the persimmon tree (so it doesn't drop its fruit. This week is a week of appointments at Waikato Hospital around work days but I will try and get something posted. Here is a photo of a close up of a pumpkin flower. they have run everywhere with the heat but there don't seem to be a lot of setting pumpkins yet. I took this photo with the thoughts of creating some sort of quilting work from it but it would also make a great subject for a botanical drawing. I am almost at the end of Wendy Hollander's online 30 day botanicals course and I have learnt so much about drawing botanicals and using coloured pencils. Now I just have to increase the number of polychroma pencils I have. A friend tells me you can buy individual pencils at Paperplus in Te Awamutu so I will have to check that out as they are quite expensive but worth the cost.I just have a basic set but Wendy recommends 27 colours so I will work toward getting those and use just ordinary coloured pencils till I have the recommended set
