Trying to master Botanical drawing
This has been a huge learning curve for me with coloured pencils and just adding a diny layer at a time. This apple is far from done and the edges need to be sharpened up. I also now understnad that the shadow should be about 45° up from the base. And to get that shine that the experts have it needs to be burnished with a light coloured pencil all over. I never imagined there would be this much learning in what is a fairly simple task. I want to be able to draw the things from my garden for my eco journal. I will probably also use a photograph but drawings have a different texture and feel and as it is about how to transfer the subjects to textile I think the sketches will be a component - if i can get them correct.
