A visit to the Hamilton Gardens

This week Tamara had a ceramics day in Hamilton so while she was at her course I took the opportunity to visit the Hamilton gardens. These gardens, on the banks of the Waikato river have a series of theme gardens that never fail to delight. It is some time since I have been there but the Italian Renaissance garden is still my favorite with its repetition and strong graphic lines- it is very restful. I wandered around taking ample photos with an emphasis on repetition and reflection as we had focused on that in CST for october. It really was what Julia Cameron calls "filling the well" for me. Unfortunately buy the time I got to the natural dyers garden I had used up the battery in my camera and phone so I will have to make another trip to get the names, dye colours and example of plants for eco dying
