When I was in Christchurch last November i purchased some sun dyes from Fabric By 3 and have only now had a chance to play with them. They are amazing. I diluted the dye about 1:1 with water and painted it onto my cotton fabric. This photo shows a stencil I have of silver birch trees that I placed on top of the painted fabric. When the fabric dried, where the stencil was had lost all the dye and this was what was revealed. The colour is actually a really dark green called kelp. I can hardly wait to try free machine stitching into this piece. I am really impressed.
