Starch paper 4

This one was using starch paste with burnt sienna and then dropping spots of black acrylic onto the surface. It was then rolled using a kids roller with notches in both horizontal and vertical directions. I was very pleasing as it was practically unplanned. Remember I am a textile artist not a paper person so I decided to try this on cotton fabric. The fabric dried hard - similar to parchment. I ironed the fabric on both sides to try and achieve heat set. Then I washed it. Disaster. The cornstarch softened in the water and the paint washed off. I was left with just a grubby piece of fabric. So now I know this doesn't work with acrylic and paste on fabric
