A Tassel from a Dyed Silk Cocoon

I have had to display this sideways as I can't work out how to show it all in portrait mode on this programme. This is one of the silk cocoons I dyed with the assemblage dying techniques. I cut the cocoon off square then used some of the variegated thread dyed at the same time to button hole stitch around the bottom and attach green beads. I made some tassel bits from more beads and attached the hanger with some other beads to make a lovely little tassel. I will probably attach this to one of my fabric journals if I get that far. The idea came from a tutorial of Linda Mathews. It was a bit time consuming but fun to make and I will want to make more of these before I decide to add to the journal
