No immersion microwave dying

This was a new and simple process for dying for me. The cotton fabric was soaked for at least 20 minutes in soda ash solution and then rung out and placed crunched up in a plastic steamer container. This was sat on top of a plastic container with some water in it so that the fabric didnt scorch. The dye was added directly and randomly to the fabric and then microwaved on high for 1 minute. The fabric was rinsed under running water and then washed in a hot wash with Fairy detergent. The first sample uses equal amounts of turquoise and golden yellow. The second sample is the same colours but on a piece of fabric about double the size - hence the more diluted appearance. The final blue piece is turquoise and cobalt and will make an ideal base for a seascape or summer sky
