Painted Bondaweb fabric paper

Here is an example of the fabric paper made in Kim's class in April. The bondaweb is painted and newspaper is also painted or dyed and then ripped in the direction that gives an interesting edge - on direction it will ripp quite straight. using baking paper it is then fused to the bondaweb (visoflex). This is then torn in strips and the process repeated at least four times. Stamping and gold leaf are applied at each stage and once the fabric paper is at a stage you are happy with it can be stitched into. Kim used a lot of uneven faggot stitching in her work so you can see here I have used that to create another texture of layer on this piece. The finished product is quite strong and is a very experimental textile approach
