Quilt sample 3

This was an expected result. This was originally some off white Thai silk that I scoured with a higher quality yellow sild and the dye in the yellow silk ran leaving this piece pale lemon. When I printed with this piece I used Forest Tulip Leaves (toward the end of Summer) and a weak iron blanket. The bundling and steaming process was as normal. I usually place the leaves underside down to try and get a good imprint of the veins and you can see them quite clearly in this print. The ends of the stalks have produced little fire bursts from the iron. But the dye has concentrated in the bottom two prints and leached out of the other areas. A most unexpected result.
