boiled paper Prints

I had heard a lot about this process but had focussed more on textile work than working with paper. However finding a video by Linda Kemshall, I took the plunge and decided to have a go at this. I used el cheapo water colour paper and would invest in better quality if I tried this again. I tore the paper to A4 size (the pad was A3) and folded each piece in half along the longer edge. I then took plant material from the garden and sandwiched between each folded sheet and each signature. I tied this with tightly with string and immersed in a pot of boiling water and boiled for approximately an hour and a half with a brick on top of the pile and the addition of an old piece of iron for added rust effects
